This is my first web site, so I will attempt to put up pages with details on my reef tank, the inhabitants, and all the equipment involved with it. This is work in progress, so be patient as I learn how to do this web thing.
My slice of the ocean is a 360 gal acrylic reef tank. It has predominantly (98%) SPS corals and some fish. I love fish and will attempt to increase their numbers over time as my tank allows. This tank was started from LR and frags that were in my previous 125 gal tank, which was set up for 5-6 months before the switch. ALL corals in this tank are 100%captive raised frags. I refuse to buy colonies, especially wild caught colonies for a few reasons:
1. I am pretty cheap and don't want to pay retail prices for colonies.
2. I like to have some minor guarantee the corals will retain the colors that attracted me to buy them in the first place. This is iffy at best with wild caught colonies.
3. I want to see the corals grow and develop.
4. I want to preserve as much as possible the harvesting of wild corals.
